Phycological Society of America Selects Oxford University Press as New Publishing Partner for Journal of Phycology

C&E supported the Phycological Society of America through a competitive publisher selection process that resulted in a new publishing partnership with Oxford University Press for the Journal of Phycology.
Beginning in January 2027, OUP will publish the journal, marking a new chapter for one of the leading publications in algal sciences.
C&E advised PSA throughout the publisher review process, which included development of a request for proposals, evaluation of publisher submissions, stakeholder discussions, and contract negotiations. The process was designed to help PSA assess long-term publishing priorities while maintaining the journal’s reputation for editorial quality and scientific impact.
The new partnership with OUP positions the Journal of Phycology for continued growth and visibility while expanding opportunities for authors and the broader phycological research community.
