Announcing Publishing Services Agreement Between the Materials Research Society and Springer Nature

January 30, 2020

Clarke & Esposito (C&E) is pleased to announce a new publishing services agreement between the Materials Research Society (MRS) and Springer Nature. C&E had the privilege of representing MRS in brokering this notable deal spanning all five journals in the MRS portfolio—MRS Bulletin, Journal of Materials Research (JMR), MRS Communications, MRS Energy & Sustainability, and MRS Advances—as well as MRS books. In addition, Springer Nature will host the archived content of the long-standing MRS Online Proceedings Library (OPL) and the MRS Internet Journal of Nitride Semiconductor Research (MIJ-NSR).

MRS is moving to Springer Nature from Cambridge University Press, which has published the MRS journals and books for nearly 10 years. MRS will begin publication with Springer Nature in January of 2021.

The decision to work with Springer Nature followed a hotly competitive RFP (request for proposal) process managed by C&E.  We congratulate both parties on the commencement this new relationship.
