Nanophotonics Journal Sold to Wiley

C&E represented Science Wise Publishing in the sale of the open access journal Nanophotonics to Wiley. This notable deal followed an extraordinarily competitive, market-based bidding process.
Founded in 2011 by publishing editor Dennis Couwenberg, Nanophotonics quickly became an indispensable journal in a fast-moving field. The journal covers the latest developments for physicists, engineers and material scientists working in nanophotonics and related fields, sitting at the nexus of nanotechnology, electronics, engineering, and materials science.
Nanophotonics ranks among the top 20 journals optics and photonics indexed in Clarivate’s Journal Citation Reports. Fully open access, the journal has developed a global reputation and published seminal research, including from several Nobel winners.
Nanophotonics is currently published via a partnership with DeGruyter-Brill. The first issue under Wiley’s ownership is scheduled for January 2026.
