Marketing Consulting Associate

C&E is seeking a skilled and versatile associate to support our busy marketing and customer experience consulting practice. The ideal candidate will have strong strategic thinking, research, and organizational skills, an understanding of modern marketing principles, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

This position is ideal for someone who aspires to be a consultant or marketing leader and wants to be at the forefront of marketing and CX innovation. We work with leading associations, publishers, universities, foundations, education/edtech, technology companies, and other mission-centric organizations. We operate as a fully remote firm.


In this role you will:

  • Working closely with marketing practice lead, design and deliver consulting projects focused on marketing strategy, marketing technology, customer experience, digital transformation.
  • Attend client meetings and generate key points, action items, and follow-ups
  • Assist in assembling reports, presentations, and other deliverables for clients
  • Conduct research with direction from the practice lead
  • Aid in content creation to support thought leadership, including drafting blog posts, articles, and web updates to showcase the consulting practice’s expertise and insights
  • Conduct marketing initiatives to promote our consulting practice, such as email campaigns, social media updates, website updates, event planning, and pitch deck creation, and proposals.
  • Project manage consulting engagements, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality work and effective communication with clients
  • Continuously learn and stay updated on relevant models, frameworks, and methodologies in marketing strategy, technology, and data, and help keep the practice’s knowledge base current
  • Track and report on trends, innovations, and new technologies in the marketing sector to inform the practice’s offerings and thought leadership
  • Provide general administrative support as needed

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, data analytics, or a related field
  • 2+ years’ experience in a digital marketing agency, in-house marketing or digital role, and/or data role. Depending on the quality of internships, these roles may qualify.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize and present information effectively
  • Proficiency in core productivity and business tools, including Microsoft Office suite, Canva, Airtable, Asana, and generative AI tools
  • Experience with, or a desire to learn more about, marketing technology and marketing analytics and data analytics tools
  • Ability to think independently and creatively
  • Self-starter who takes initiative to learn and develop professionally
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple, deadline-driven projects
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Industry experience (publishing, media, associations, education) is not required but would be a plus
